a behind the scenes look from my instagram: photo 1 / 2 / 3 / 4
At the beginning of this year I started hosting knitting video tutorials for AllFreeKnitting, and just last week I wrapped up hosting their first ever knit along, featuring the Spring Meadow Scarf. Now that the KAL is behind us, a new batch of tutorials are being released that you might be interested in.
English Mesh Lace Stitch
The first video shares how to knit English Mesh Lace, which is perfect because that’s the motif I used in the English Lace Scarf that was published in June and uses a 100% linen yarn. If you’re looking for a great summer knit, the chance to try linen yarn, or if you’re new to lace knitting, you should use this new video and the English Lace Scarf for try something new! You can get the English Lace Scarf pattern here.
Mattress Stitch
The other new video that’s out is a technique video for how to do mattress stitch. While it’s called a stitch, it’s more a stitch in the sewing sense than the knitting sense. You use mattress stitch to seamlessly join two panels of knitting together, and once you see which knit stitches to sew together and how, it’s such an easy, elegant joining technique. Another great skill builder worth trying, even on a couple of swatches!
All of my videos for AllFreeKnitting so far!
The final new development is that AFK has put all of the videos I’m hosting into a single playlist, so if you want to see all my videos in one place, you can visit their channel for the playlist, or simply view it embedded below. So easy!
Are there any techniques or stitches you’d like to see a video tutorial for? Holler in the comments and I’ll see if I can make it happen!
