Check out two fresh ideas for how to incorporate tassels in your holiday gift-giving, and both take just minutes to DIY.
Picks of the Week
I’ve been busy all week planning, booking, crafting knitting and prepping for next Friday’s big Sweater Party benefitting Save the Children. If you haven’t heard, I’ll be hosting a party at Chicago’s Nina yarn store on Friday 12/12 from 5-7:30 pm, with all donations benefitting the Save the Children foundation. Basically, it’s going to be a fun, sweater-themed party to help us raise money for an awesome charity.

I know a lot of gift-givers in my life might not feel super confident in buying me yarn or yarn supplies. It’s hard to deny that there can be a bit of a learning curve when it comes to buying quality yarn and related supplies, right? If family members or friends are asking you or a significant other about a yarny gift for you, you might want to suggest PostStich.
The Remy Pullover Sweater (& Lion Brand Giveaway Winner!)
I wanted the Remy to be a really comfortable sweater that’s warm, but not too warm. The cables and demi-boatneck collar lend it to doubling as both a casual and formal sweater. After knitting a whole, human-sized sweater, you want it to be useful, right?
Mini Christmas Stockings Pattern
Looking for a giftable pattern that knits up in just a few hours? These mini stockings can be used as ornaments, baby booties, a garland, a gift topper or even as part of a table setting!
Picks of the Week (& giveaway winners!)
Ok, Christmas knitting and crochet season has officially begun! The blogs posted a bunch of adorable, kawaii-riffic patterns for everything from baby reindeer to Christmas lights this week, and it was awesome. Ideas like these make me want to cuddle up with a nice afghan, a few skeins of yarn, and a crochet hook for the winter. So, so cute.
How to Work a Daisy Stitch
On Monday, I shared the pattern (that it appears you guys are loving- yay!) for the Winter Sea Stocking Cap featuring a daisy/shell/fan motif. In that post, I promised video tutorials for how to work the daisy stitch that forms the daisy/shell/fan, and here they are!
Winter Sea Stocking Cap
With winter settling in for the season, it feels like about the time to knit up a quick little hat to tide me over through the end of the year. This hat is warm, but won’t make your head sweat on milder early winter days.
Picks of the Week
This must be a week in which a lot of the knitters and crocheters I follow are busy working on holiday knitting, rather than blogging explicitly festive items. Don’t get me wrong – awesome knit and crochet ideas abounded, but it was a lot of accessories, super adorable knitwear for kids, that sort of thing. But I guess I can’t say anything about the lack of festive projects I’m finding because it took me until yesterday, November freaking 20th, to post my first holiday tutorial of the season. I better get on blogging some ornaments and home décor ideas asap!
