It’s the Chicago Yarn Crawl this week, dudes! This year, I only had a chance to Crawl for one day, hitting up 5 of the many stores participating. But I made sure to snap a few pics of their yarn and supplies to make you all jealous of the amazing yarn stores we’ve got here in Chicagoland. ;) The Yarn Crawl is divided into regions, and I focused on Region 1, the yarn shops within Chicago’s city limits.
At each stop, I made sure to get my Crawl passport stamped, and I entered each store’s raffle and snagged a copy of their free Yarn Crawl pattern. For every five stores you stop at, you get entered to win a bigger raffle too. Lots of incentives to participate, no? It runs through this Sunday, August 10, so there’s still time to get your yarn crawl on!

Hands Occupied Stop #1: Nina in Wicker Park, Chicago
If you’re in Chicago, you should know they’re having a yarn bombing event this Sunday from 2-5 pm to celebrate the end of the crawl!
Nina’s pattern and prize pack, to give you an idea of how awesome all of the stores’ prizes are!
Stop #2 Sister Arts Studio in Lincoln Park, Chicago
Check out Sister Arts Studio’s online class calendar.
Stop #3 Knit 1 in North Center, Chicago
Here’s their class calendar. And the people working on projects in the store today were so nice & all loved my new hair. I <3 knitters.
Stop #4 Windy Knitty in Andersonville, Chicago
Their events page. I love that they organize their yarn by weight, and by color within that. A librarian’s dream yarn store, haha!
Stop #5 Sifu Design Studio in Edgewater, Chicago
Check out their fun calendar. I hear they’re watching Harry Potter 3 and knitting this Friday night!
