I originally made this little basket to test out a yarn that caught me by happy surprise and to try a cute new pattern at the same time. I wasn’t planning on blogging it, but I realized I used this little 4ish inch basket for a very important purpose: a catch-all for desk ephemera. For a crafter like me, it’s everything from a jump drive to miscellaneous craft supplies to a pack of cards.

Directions
All you’ve got to do is follow Crochet in Color’s pattern & directions, which are really, really good! She designed this basket to be normal basket sized, knit with chunky yarn, but I wanted to try both this fun yarn & her pattern on a smaller scale to see how it worked.
The yarn I used is just good old Red Heart Super Saver, which isn’t particularly fancy. BUT! This new print (and I promise this post isn’t sponsored – pinky swear!) is Peruvian inspired and features a range of greens, blues, orange, yellow, white and black. As you work, the yarn transitions though different patterns of these colors, creating really interesting patterns. I was really excited to see yarn like this at the craft store!
