I had been exclusively a knitter for over ten years when I finally decided to learn to crochet. The catalyst for my taking the plunge into a new world of hooks and loops were seeing amigurumi patterns online. Amigurumi are basically small knitted or crocheted stuffed toys, but all of the patterns I liked were crocheted.
I still consider myself only an intermediate crocheter, so I’ll just share some of my favorite amigurumi patterns and pics today. Keep in mind that there are TONS of amigurumi books out there, so I recommend checking out your local library to see if they have any books with adorable patterns to try. If these patterns don’t strike your personal fancy, I recommend checking out the Ami List blog. It’s an amazing resource.
Last, but not least, I wanted to share some videos with you. Especially if you’re a newbie crocheter, these videos will help you learn the basics of creating your first amigurumi shape.
