We’ve all been there. We had an awesome idea (or at least saw one on Pinterest), we tried making it… and failed miserably. A new book just came out by Heather Mann called Craft Fail that covers it all – everything from misspelled cross stitch to crochet mice that look more like rabid honey badgers!
This books is full of so many hilarious, crafty oops-es! It made me laugh out loud, and even feel a little bit better about some of my own fails. Craft Fail is an excellent gift idea for the crafter in your life. It reminds you that everyone fails sometimes, but that it’s all part of the creative process. As awkward as your craft fails might be, you’re not alone, and you’re likely to learn something from it!
Like I said, Craft Fail is a great gift idea, and I would suggest pairing it with another title I reviewed recently – Mighty Ugly. Both books are great for people looking to get creative, especially those intimidated by failure. This coupling of books will totally inspire them to embrace the imperfect and make them laugh a little at the same time.
A copy of this book was provided in exchange for a review. Opinions are my own.

My most recent craft fail was a hat for my hubby. First it turned out far too big so rather than rip it out and re-knit (because I didn’t like knitting it in the first place) I felted it, and then it was too small. It ended up in the charity basket, hopefully it will fit someone.

Thanks for the review, Heidi! I agree that the book goes well when paired with Mighty Ugly!
