In the latest reader survey, you guys said you’re interested in seeing what sort of tools I use to knit. By far my most-used knitting needles are interchangeable circulars. There are a few brands I like to use, depending on my mood and the project or fiber I’m working with. One of those go-to brands is Knitter’s Pride. Lightweight and warm to the touch, the Knitter’s Pride Karbonz knitting needles are really easy to work with and virtually unbreakable. I always look forward to casting on projects with these needles.
When appropriately tightened with the “keys,” Karbonz interchangeable needles don’t have a catching issue between the cord and the needle tip – a common issue I’ve run into time and again with other interchangeable needle sets from a variety of brands. For very observant knitters, you might notice the slightest catch between the needle tips and the Karbonz’s bodies, but I was so enamored by the smooth glide of my stitches along the Karbonz’s bodies that I really didn’t notice anything but smooth sailing on the needles as I worked with them.
My only real critique of the interchangeable Karbonz is with the cables. While they broke in quickly, the first few projects I knit with my circular Karbonz were marred with a little bit of frustration at the cables wanting to stay in the shape they came in, a.k.a. at their “memory.” I’ve run into this hurdle with other needles, though, and the memory issue is essentially moot after you break them in. The smooth handling of the tips & needle bodies alone is drool-worthy, so I would absolutely not let the fact that the cables needed a bit of breaking in keep you from getting your hands on a pair of Karbonz circulars or a set of Knitter’s Pride’s interchangeable circulars.

Oh my goodnesssss that interchangeable needle is so useful!… Im learning on knitting all this while and been learning it online. Not easy for me to get a good website and video like yours. In Malaysia, it is quite difficult to get all these tools. Even if I get one of the good one is could cost very expensive!

I’ve so wanted to try the karbonz, but haven’t yet- they look amazing! Oh, and I find that dunking cables with a ‘memory’ into a mug of hot water relaxes them and makes them much easier to work with.

I have the Dreamz but I’m really curious about Karbonz. I like my needles but I somehow snapped one of my Dreamz while knitting so maybe something sturdier might be in order.

These needles are incredible! I tried a set, then promptly gave them away to a reader. I’m happy she won them but was super sad to send them away! Love the tips, love the cables, love that they still feel warm like wood, but the metal tips wont wear down. They’re just awesome.

I actually have never used interchangeable needles, but am absolutely dying to get my hands on a set. I am very interested to try this particular set as carbon fiber sounds like the perfect needle. I actually have a million circular needles that I’ve amassed over my 10 years of knitting (only need to buy them once, or 3 times if you use a lof of size 8s!) but one of my best friends has just started teaching herself to knit and a hat is the next thing on her list. I would love to give these to her to help her hobby along and because she’s wonderful.
For Lent, I began knitting for charity- I knit a ton of cute hats for women undergoing chemotherapy in honor of my sister in law, who herself is battling breast cancer… I couldn’t stop when Easter came… still knitting for charity. This week I am knitting KNOCKERS for women who have undergone mastectomy but are not eligible for reconstructive surgery. The required cotton yarn is very expensive, so I could only afford some (cheapo) fixed circular needles- I have had to stop several times and smooth them with sandpaper!!!!. I would USE THESE KARBONZ like M*A*D*!!!!!I have read many reviews of them and winning them would be like a dream come true and would speed up my charity knitting.

I didn’t even realize there is such a thing as interchangeable needles! Even though I’ve been knitting for a few years, I am still a beginner. But, I am working on it daily now. I would love to have these needles, partly because the needle carrier I have is bulging. The idea that needles can be warm to the touch is intriguing. Thank you for sharing on your blog.
I only use circulars. Modular is great because you can change the length for larger or smaller projects!

I haven’t tried interchangeable needles in 20 years. I didn’t like the ones I had because the yarn would always catch on the connection point. Maybe these are different and improved?

The reason why I would love to win these wonderful knitting needles,is I started knitting last fall.I have some really old aluminum ones my mom had,and I have tried the bamboo but they just are not for me.I love the ease of interchangeable,I have tried a pattern that requires different size needle,How awesome would it be to just change it up and back to knitting.

I first learned to knit on knitters pride dreamz straights. Love everything I’ve used by them!
I loved the Karbonz DPNs I used and would love to use them as actual needles since I use circulars excusively due to pain with straights. I haven’t had much iasue with the cord memory though, myself. Knitters Pride is my go to brand for most things.

I stopped using DPNs to knit socks a few years ago until…I saw a set of Karbonz and needed them because they *look* so badass!
I didn’t expect them to feel *this* good to where I actually went back and knitted a pair of socks with them!
I finished one sock and immediately started the second sock!
I love how they feel and even a co-worker said they look impressive.
I tried the Karbonz DPNs with some socks and they didn’t live up to my expectations. Maybe I was expecting too much; I’m more of a circulars kind of guy. I’d be willing to give the Karbonz circulars a fair shot if I won them.
