What says summer more than dyeing yarn with flower petals? All of this week’s picks are great, but that one stands out. As a gardener as well as knitter & crocheter, I LOVE the idea of preserving your spring flowers as dye in my yarn. The gifting and keepsake possibilities are endless for this idea! Take this example: Think about preserving a bouquet of flowers from a boyfriend in yarn. Then imagine knitting that yarn into a shawl to wear on your wedding day. Coming from a long line of gardeners, I also think about making a prayer shawl for grandparents or my own parents using flower petal yarn dyed from their very own gardens. How beautiful is that?
