Now that the new year is in full swing, it looks like a lot of us bloggers spent the holiday break (and the chilly weeks following) hiberknitting and crocheting! There were so many amazing yarn-related ideas published in the last couple weeks that it was legit hard to narrow it down to these six. In the end, the fun, cute and colorful rose to the top. It’s grey enough out there in January, so let’s warm things up with colorful crafting ideas!

2017 Blogger of the Year!
Normally, my weekly picks are pretty short and sweet, but I got some amazing news this week! AllFreeKnitting published their annual list of top knitting bloggers of the year. Now I’d have been chuffed just to be on the list, but they went ahead and named me their Blogger of the Year! I’m beyond humbled and still kind of surprised that happened. SO in honor of that, here’s a playlist of some of my best work done with the AllFreeKnitting. And here’s a video I did with them featuring some quick & easy slippers!
in case you missed it…
- A new pattern has been added to the shop! Learn all about the Ruby Stole here, and get your hands on it in the Hands Occupied Shop or on Ravelry.
- The Cast On Clinic went so well last week in Chicago that I’m doing a whole series this month on different cast ons, specifically how to work them and why & when to use a given cast on. Kicking things off, we took at look at the Knitted and Cable Cast Ons.
