It’s been a week of rearranging and hardcore weeding my craft room. I have so many craft supplies that I know could be put to better use by my teacher and librarian friends this coming fall that it was high time to put my own librarian skills to use and thoughtfully make my supply stash smaller. I’ve gone through and pulled out yarn ends I’m never going to use, paints that will go bad if they’re not used in the next 3-6 months, random supplies I’ve been gifted over the years by craft companies I’ve worked with or well-meaning family members. This desperately-needed declutter has cut into the amount of time I’d normally spend on the computer this week, but I feel physically lighter knowing my creative space at home is in order. Funny how that works. Anyone else have a major clutter purge or destash they’d like to share? Tips for places to donate unwanted crafty leftovers? Leave ’em in the comments – I’ll share my favorites in an upcoming post!
PS: If you’re in the Chicago area, I’m having a 100% free “garage sale” this weekend. Comment here or email me at handsoccupied-at-gmail-dot-com if you or anyone you know would like to get their hands on some free craft supplies, particularly if they’re teachers, parents or librarians! :)
