I’ve never met a Worldwide Knit in Public Day I didn’t like. For one, it affords me lots of opportunities to take fun pictures of my favorite thing, knitting. For another, it’s a great excuse to hang out with friends for an extended group session, and – added bonus – WWKIP meetups are usually outdoors. Here’s a run-down of the action at Saturday’s Chicago meetup on Worldwide Knit in Public Day.

Knit in Public Day Meetup in Chicago!
Saturday, June 13 is Worldwide Knit in Public Day, and I’m finally realizing my dream of hosting an event in honor of the day. Since I’m a Chicago resident, it makes sense to host the event here, and I’ve invited my knitting group to join in the fun.
Worldwide Knit in Public Week
Happy Worldwide Knit in Public Week! Did you even know that was a thing? It’s been around since 2005 and takes place the second Saturday in June. It originated as a single day to bring knitters together, raise awareness for how awesome knitting is as a community building activity, and how widely it’s been adopted by crafters of all ages.
