I’ve been cray cray cray booked this week. A lot of that is because I’ve had so much work booked this month, it seemed only right to take a weekend out to spend with my neglected husband (and self). So we went to all three days of Pitchfork, seeing Joanna Newsom, Bjork, Solange, Belle & Sebastian, Glass Candy and R Kelly. Umm, R Kelly did Remix to Ignition and I almost vomited from excitement. And he closed with I Believe I Can Fly, and HUNDREDS OF DOVE-SHAPED HELIUM BALLOONS WERE RELEASED OVER CHICAGO. Really for real. Here’s some of the amazing Kells action:
Anyway, we then saw Jay Z and Justin Timberlake on Monday in the first stadium concert I’ve ever attended. It was great fun except for the $10 beers. Pitchfork had really great Goose Island beer, including two Pitchfork specialty brews make in collaboration with Pitchfork staff and some of the musicians performing. So good.
What else… Oh! I’m at the BlogHer conference this weekend learning tons of new things and having way too much fun with out of town bloggie friends. And since I’ve got to be up in like 5 hours to attend some sessions for said conference, I’m going to leave this Weekly Reader update at that.
