This was a week of celebrating the holidays and reading, reading, reading for me, so I only have book recs for you today. I just read a picture book that made me cry, Bluebird (a total Caldecott award contender IMHO). Also, in less than 24 hours, I read the children’s chapter book Hold Fast, and it was so so good! A great book set in Chicago that will give readers of any age some insight into childhood homelessness and the importance of family.
in case you missed it…
- Get your glitter bomb on!
- My great-grandma was a Christmas crafting wizard, I tell you!

You gave your extended family homemade firer starters in the 90s. It’s a great use of old candles. Also old crayons are great for coloring wax.
